Our courses upon successful completion confer "Young Trained Farmer Status" commonly referred to as the "Green Cert". There are different routes of study available:

Full Time Courses where students are in college Monday to Friday and are suitable to most school leavers
Here at the Salesian Agricultural College we specialise in the delivery of livestock based courses and agricultural mechanisation courses.
Our 550 acre farm is home to a dairy herd of 460 spring calving cows, the largest in the agricultural college network.
Our mechanisation courses have an annual intake in excess of 70 students, the biggest intake of mechanisation students in any agricultural college.
Our 110 mid season lambing ewe flock, lambing down 2.1 lambs per ewe is the most prolific flock amongst the agricultural colleges.

Option A - (2 years)
Year 1:

Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture - apply to Teagasc
Year 2 - choose from one of the following options:
Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Agriculture specialising in either:
Option B - (2 years for level 6 award & additional year for level 7 award)

Higher Certificate in Engineering in Agricultural Mechanisation Level 6 - Apply through the CAO - 2 years

Bachelor in Engineering in Agricultural Engineering Level 7 - 1 year add on
